May is Better Hearing and Speech Month!

The American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) celebrates May as Better Hearing and Speech Month. This annual event provides opportunities to raise awareness about communication disorders and to promote treatment that can improve the quality of life for those who experience problems with speaking, understanding, or hearing. "Please see the link to Speech, Mrs. Day's class for more information about Better Hearing and Speech Month. Also, check out the bulletin board in the front hallway."

Suzanne's Reading Road Lending Library

As the school year comes to an end, Suzanne's Reading Road is no longer open for borrowing. It's been a fantastic year and we'd like to thank all our parent volunteers for making it possible to open the library for students during school hours three days a week this year!

We will be visiting classrooms over the next few weeks to collect ALL outstanding books.  We also have bins marked and located in the front office, as well as the main library.  Please be sure to return all borrowed books by May 29th in order to be eligible to use our summer checkout service.  Students with past due books WILL NOT be allowed to borrow books over the summer.

Teachers will be sending home pink fliers with information on your child's DRA reading level and our summer schedule at the end of the school year.

For questions or information or if you'd like to volunteer with us next year so that we can continue to provide this wonderful service to our students, please contact Janice Daly jkhdaly@hotmail.com.
