Gifted Identification Update

The division-level Gifted Identification/Placement Committee will meet throughout the months of August and September to make decisions regarding eligibility and placement for gifted services for cases with permission prior to the COVID shutdown in March. Parents/guardians will be notified by mail as decisions are made. Please contact Suzanne Brazier (braziesc@pwcs.edu) if you have any questions.

Delivery of Services Update

In 2020-21, gifted education services will be delivered virtually through Canvas during the first quarter. Information and sample schedules are available on the PWCS Return to Learn FAQ Page

In Prince William County Schools, students are found eligible for gifted services in Specific Intellectual Aptitude. The Identification and Placement process in Prince William County uses multiple criteria. The identification process begins either through general screening procedures or through the referral of a student by a parent, teacher, school staff member, or a community member. Students may also refer themselves.

You can learn more about the gifted education program or request a referral form by contacting Suzanne Brazier, the gifted education resource teacher at Cedar Point. If you prefer, you can also visit the PWCS gifted education website.
